CSV imports: Contact field definitions

Contact records hold all the information that you need to contact an individual or business. Contacts almost never exist in Sage Intacct alone. Contacts are always associated with one or more records across many applications.

Contacts are not dimensions like Vendors, Employees, Customers, or Users. Think of your contacts as a common, shared address book that's used across your company by many people for a variety of purposes. For example, if you update an address in a vendor record, the address will update everywhere in Intacct that the contact is associated with.

Different types of contacts can be specified in uploads.

Contact prefixes

When uploading a vendor list, you must indicate a primary vendor contact. However, you might also assign optional return-to and Pay-to contacts. The differences between these designations are a contact prefix. In this instance, the return-to contact fields have an R_ prefix and the Pay-to contact fields have a P_ prefix.

If either the return-to and/or Pay-to contact fields are not included, the primary contact information is used instead.

For example, the COMPANY_NAME field when used for the return-to contact is R_COMPANY_NAME, and the Pay-to contact is P_COMPANY_NAME.
