View a dashboard

Get insight into your company through each component on a dashboard.

You must have permissions to view the dashboard and have the permissions to view the dashboard components. For example, you must have permission to view graphs to see a dashboard graph displaying profitability trends.

For more information, see Set dashboard permissions.

  1. Go to Dashboards > All.

You'll see all the dashboards that you've added, and all the dashboards that others in your company have given you permission to use.

  2. Find the dashboard that you want to view.
  3. Select Components.
  1. Go to Dashboards >All.

  2. Find the dashboard that you want to view.
  3. Select View components.

Refresh the dashboard

Refreshing can be useful if data has changed after you opened the dashboard.

  • To refresh a single component: Select Refresh at the top of the component to refresh with the latest data.
  • To refresh the entire dashboard: Refresh your browser window, for example, press F5. For optimal response times, refreshing the entire dashboard—rather than a single component—retrieves the latest data as of 15 minutes ago.

Zoom in to view all

Some components can be limited in size, such as a list of customers might show only 20 rows.

  • Select Search to display all the data in a new window.
  • For some components you can adjust the general font size (for charts), number of rows, and set the height.
  • Want to make the component itself larger or smaller? Select Settings.

You'll see the Settings icon only if you have permissions to edit the dashboard. For performance cards, Settings appears when you hover over the card with your mouse.

While you cannot make the font size larger on the dashboard, you can use your browser's Zoom feature to make the font appear larger.

While using View All with reports, the report uses the As of date defined in the report. The dimension filters used are the ones defined in the original report. However, if Prompts are configured to allow it, you can select Filter on the report output to create additional filters.

Drill down to financial details

Easily drill down from a component to see details. For example, a performance card shows that net profit is up 20% versus the prior quarter. Drill down to see where that revenue came from and how it compares to numbers from the prior quarter.

Can't drill down? Make sure that your browser is not set to block popup windows.

Select the primary value, such as the percentage or amount, to drill down to a financial report.

Currently, drill down is not available for performance cards that are based on computations.

Graph

Applies only to financial graphs created in General Ledger.

  • To drill down on a particular data point: Select the data point, such as the slice of a pie chart where you want to see more detail.
  • To drill down on the entire graph: Select anywhere else.
Having trouble drilling down on a portion of the graph? For line graphs, select a data point on the line. For area graphs, select a data point on the line that represents the top of the area.

Report

Select a hyperlink in the report.

Quick edit for reports and graphs

Do you want different data for your report? Would that column graph be more useful if it showed a trending 4 quarters? If you own this dashboard and have permissions to edit dashboards, select Edit for a report or graph component.

After you save your changes to the report or graph, select Refresh at the top of the component to refresh the data.
