Create or edit a report from Reports center
You can create the following report types from the Reports center:
- financial reports
- financial graphs
- custom reports
- new report groups
- Interactive Custom Report Writer (ICRW) reports
- Interactive Visual Explorer (IVE) reports and visual boards
You need the proper permissions to view the data in any report. Required permissions can differ based on the report, the application, and custom report privileges. For more information on permissions, see How users, roles, and permissions work together.

| Prerequisites |
Access to create, view, and edit reports can vary depending on your subscriptions and permissions. The ability to drill down from report amounts to transactions is controlled by separate General Ledger permissions. Make sure that you have all of the necessary permissions when working with reports. |
Create a report

Go to Reports > All > Reports center.
- Select New report.
- Select an available option, based on your user permissions:
- Duplicate an existing custom report as the starting point for the new report.
- Create a new custom report.
- Create a new interactive custom report. You can create and edit an ICRW report if you’re a Business or Project Manager user and your company has an ICRW Designer subscription.
- Create new Interactive Visual Explorer visual board.. You can create and edit an IVE report or visual board if you are a Business or Project Manager user and your company has an IVE Designer subscription.
- Create the report based on the report type you selected.

When creating a report name, the best practice is to use only the characters recommended in the Use column of the following table.

Report center editing capabilities
Review the following report types for their editing capabilities. Not all reports can be edited from the Reports center.
- Financial reports and graphs
You can edit financial reports and financial graphs from the Reports center, if you have the correct permissions.
If you do not see the Edit option next to a financial report, you do not have the necessary permissions for this task.
- Custom reports
You are not allowed to edit Custom Report Writer (CRW) reports from the Reports center. However, with the correct permissions, you can duplicate a custom report and modify the duplicated version. You can also edit the parameters of a memorized custom report.
- Standard application reports
You cannot edit standard application reports, for example the General Ledger - Trial Balance report. However, when running a standard report, you can do the following:
- change the time period
- filter the data
- change the formatting options
- specify a report title
- Report groups
You can edit report groups from the Reports center, if you have the correct permissions.
If you do not see the Edit option next to a report group, you do not have the necessary permissions for this task.
- Interactive Custom Report Writer (ICRW) reports
You are not allowed to edit Interactive Custom Report Writer (ICRW) reports from the Reports center. For information on editing ICRW reports, see Edit or delete an ICRW report.
- Interactive Visual Explorer (IVE) reports
You are not allowed to edit an Interactive Visual Explorer (IVE) report or visual board from the Reports center. For information on editing IVE reports and visual boards, see Add data to a visualization in IVE.
Edit a report in the Report center

Go to Reports > All > Reports center.
- Locate the report to change and select Edit.
- Make the desired changes.
- Select Save.
